Rapid Manufacturing

Leading motorsports, automotive, medical and consumer goods companies have been taking advantage of production grade 3D printing solutions for the manufacture of end use parts and custom products for years now.  We have been able to apply our experience and technology to help solve their design to manufacturing challenges in a lean, tool-less and inventory efficient manner.

Perhaps its time to look at how you design and deliver your products? We know how to take out costs, design for functionality versus traditional manufacturing, eliminate tooling and supply chain complexity and literally print real parts – on demand. We can help – click here.

These are our Rapid Manufacturing Success Stories:

Shriners Hospital uses digital manufacturing to treat cleft palates

An engineer-physician team working at Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, Mass has combined digital manufacturing technologies in a new procedure for treating babies born with severe cleft lip and palate.

SLS® Manufactures Custom Surgical Platforms

“We needed a machine with a very high reliability that could accomodate the strength of FDA-approved sintering materials.” When FHC, Inc. needed fast, custom-made devices they turned to 3D Systems SLS Systems for production of microTargeting® devices.

A Manufacturing Revolution - Custom Prosthetics

Using 3D Systems' next generation SLS® technology, Bespoke Innovations is able to quickly design and manufacture beautiful prosthetic limb fairings customized for each customer.

Building the world's fastest shoes

Researchers in England are creating specialized sprinting shoes with selective laser sintering, athlete testing, and one tough plastic. Learn how in this RP&M article from Desktop Engineering.

Cheetah Tools Creates Production Parts using SLS®

Cheetah Tool Systems develops and manufactures high-speed blind rivet fastening systems. They used 3D Systems’ SLS® Technology to design and build durable, light-weight production parts with the help of a preferred parts service provider. “If the 3D Systems’ technology wasn’t available, I would have needed a million more dollars and with all the intricate parts, it would not have been possible to complete the riveting tool.”

A Blind Man “Sees” New Home through Model

Two 3D Systems customers teamed up to create SLA and SLS models of a home for a Lousiville, Ky., family featured on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” DuraForm PA and Accura 25, two “Go Pro” materials solutions from 3D Systems were used so that Patrick Henry Hughes could “see” the shape and layout of the family’s new home through touch.

Rapid manufactured manifold propels Indy racecar

Élan Motorsports needed help developing a fuel manifold. A complex part, and the harsh tank environment were challenges facing EMT. A new manifold, created using SLS Material, was directly manufactured and used in several races, including the Indianapolis 500.

F1 Team races with 3D Systems

"In motor racing, you can't put a price on how much that is worth. Aerodynamics is easily the most cost effective way to extract performance, and 3D Systems' technologies have become an essential part of our aero development."
